Producer for PBS & WNET Multiplatform Initiatives Chasing the Dream and Peril and Promise.

I led the production process from contract to delivery to launch for all documentary series, short films, podcasts, and articles distributed on our YouTube channel, On The Brink, and on the social channels and websites for the two national reporting PBS initiatives, Chasing the Dream and Peril and Promise.

Due to a partnership between Multiplatform Initiatives team and WORLD Channel, the series, In Their Element, and a few other digital-first films/docuseries had a chance at having a broadcast premiere. I was the project manager from the start of the renewed partnership to delivery of materials to WORLD for broadcast.

Preserving Democracy: Pursuing a More Perfect Union

First hire brought on as researcher to create a proposal for a retrospective on the events of January 6, 2020. Proposal went on to become a film and multiplatform initiative.

Became AP on film where I coordinated six segment producers, became a field producer & Certified Covid Compliance officer for shoots. Assisted archival producer and post-production.

The Lincoln Report &The Breakdown

Zeldavision TV/The Lincoln Project

Researcher for The Lincoln Report, a twice-weekly news program in partnership with The Lincoln Project. I stayed aware of breaking news, created script outlines, pitches story ideas, contributed writing to the script, gathered photo and video elements, and provided thorough research on guests and news for host packet. Once The Lincoln Report ended, I went on to do research for The Breakdown.

 

Community Radio

In 2015, I became a reporter and producer at Radio Santa Ana, a community radio station located in the Centro Cultural de Mexico, a cultural center for a community that consists of 75% Latinos. The time I spent at RSA fundamentally shaped my approach to telling stories by always asking the question: Who is not in “the room” right now?

  • Translated a Civic Tech app into Spanish

  • Spanish to English Interpreter at live events

  • Translated, transcribed, and provided research to a piece published on Palabra & The Charlottesville Tomorrow and a documentary on farming in Northern California.

  • Transcription cleanup for podcast, Melrose Heals

    Developed & implemented a strategy for student engagement and participation through leadership opportunities, partnerships, event and discussion-based programming, and experiential learning opportunities

  • During the 2016 national presidential election, I was a Regional Logistics Coordinator for the Campaign Operations team at SEIU. As an RLC for the civic engagement program that sought to increase union member participation in the election, I was the primary point of contact for the logistics of 16 different member offices nationwide. I organized all travel, supplies, financial reimbursement, and payroll needs for member political organizers.

  • As the Media Management Acquisitions Coordinator, I entered metadata for programming and worked with outside series distributors of title delivery and billing for IFC, SundanceTV, and BBC America.
